Anna Ranieri has been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 15 years. She works with individual adult clients on issues that include the experience of anxiety and depression; career, health and other life changes; and family and relationship issues. She works with couples on building relationships, repairing relationships, and ending relationships. Anna uses an existential orientation to clients’ struggles to find meaning and connection in life. She uses cognitive and behavioral approaches in helping people learn more productive ways to think about issues and to follow through with action. She uses psychodynamic training to help clients gain an understanding of how issues arose in past relationships that are played out in current ones. She works both in short and long term fashion, and engages her clients in shaping the counseling process. Anna has taught counseling theory and practice at Notre Dame de Namur, Santa Clara and Stanford Universities. She has an MA in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Stanford University.
